Each tablet contains: Melatonin 3 mg, Vitamin B6 10 mg
Melatonin is the main hormone secreted by the pineal gland. Melatonin is present but can also be synthesized in the enterochromaffin cells; the release of gastrointestinal melatonin into the circulation seems to follow the periodicity of food intake, particularly tryptophan intake. Melatonin directly affects rest-activity mechanisms, promoting the rest phase in humans, and that its ability to suppress the activity of the circadian pacemaker, thus shifting its phase, is part of its net effect. B vitamins have been advanced as a preventive for insomnia based on research that suggests deficiencies in vitamin B6 promote psychological distress and ensuing sleep disturbance. Vitamin B complex are one of the most essential group of vitamins and vital in maintaining the health of the nervous system. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is required for the synthesis of the neurotransmitter's serotonin and norepinephrine and for myelin formation. Vitamin B6 is also responsible for the proper regulation of the immune system.
